Although many of the early blog entries are about our search for a travel trailer and RVing, the real purpose of this website and our actions going forward is to improve our quality of life and to discover the wonder of life as we move into our retirement . . . and to share those discoveries with you.
It was Bev’s idea, really. I had a vision of chronicling our adventures, talk about owning a travel trailer, and generally being more about RV travel than anything else. But Bev, as I am slowly realizing, has a much better grasp on the nuances of life. I see the bigger picture while she marvels at the tiny, seemingly insignificant, and I’ve always loved her for that.
One of my earliest memories of Bev, this being maybe three or four weeks after we started dating ten years ago, was of going for a walk with her, and her stopping every ten feet or so to touch a plant or smell a flower or gaze into a tree to watch a squirrel. She had then, and still does now, an almost childlike awe of nature and the environment. She appreciates the smallest of things, finds value in practically everything she sees, while I’m Mr. Tunnel Vision as I go about life, a heat-seeking missile on a mission, missing 90% of things along the journey.
To my credit, I am slowly learning from her, and that is why this website has transformed even before it was formally unveiled.
RV Travel and then some
Yes, we will tell you all about our weekend trials and tribulations involving RV travel and RV lifestyle, but we will also shoot videos and write blog articles about the wonders in our neighborhood and in this city called Olympia. As someone wisely said once about the Pacific Northwest, why travel to see beautiful sights when this area of the world is about as beautiful as it gets in life? There are mountains here, snowy peaks reaching 14,000 feet. There is an inland sea, Puget Sound. One of the few rainforests in North America is in this state, and the Pacific Ocean is no more than two hours from where I now sit. Rivers are in abundance, lakes dot the landscape, and lush farmland is in the valleys.
This is a great place to live if you like nature.
So yes, we will tell you all about the mistakes we make as we learn RV life, but we are also going to share the wonders of life as Bev sees them, and maybe, in doing so, bring some happiness into your lives.
We really can be quite entertaining when we commit to it.
We love interaction
We would love it if you left comments on the blog articles and YouTube videos. We want to hear what you think. We want to interact with you all. And, if we are lucky and feeling energetic, maybe one day we will put into your driveway while RVing and meet you in person. If that happens, remember that you owe me a mocha. LOL
Tempting, Peggy, if you can lower the heat a bit it would be appreciated.
Thank you Audrey! I am happy you came along for our new adventure.
Thanks for following along, Ann! You are a grand friend.
I would love that too, Sha, but Florida? Can’t you move to another state? lol
Bill, I love your new site and this chapter in the life and times of Bev and Bill. Let me know when you’re in the neighborhood (yeah, I know, Florida’s too hot for you). I’d love to give you a hug!
I think you’ve both got it right, spot on! Great attitude, great philosophy, and a superb site..
Good luck with your experiments, your finds, and your quests. But you don’t need luck, you have it all sussed and I have no doubt that you’ll have a whale of a time!
Looking forward to following your journey. Have fun!
Ann
I expect you will have great adventures! Your pictures are beautiful!
Looking forward to your new adventures! I know that Houston is not on the top of your travel destination lists, but I’ll have that mocha waiting for you if you ever come this way!
